Thoughts on Eurovision 2009

As the set is dismantled at the greatest pan European event which does not involve our killing one another, I remain genuinely pleased that adopted Belarussian pixie, Alexander Ryback won. A song which every ex gauche teenager with a crush will have understood, with a melody which Fiona Talkington would no doubt approve of.

Next in my scale of artistic merit came another genuine music group – not an act – which played their own instruments, Estonia’s Urban Symphony with another musical pixie on lead vocals, Sandra Nurmsalu; who appealed to me for reasons in addition to the understated, urbane air of the song.

This is definitely someone from whom I would take Estonian language lessons.

But, for completely shameless feelings of lust (and what is wrong with that?), it would have to have been Hadise of Turkey.

Seriously hot totty! But, why on Earth is the team’s mini-bus driver joining in on the dance?

And the dress rehersal!

And a publicity shot.

So this is how Edmund Pevensie felt.
