Which Bible is Sean Brady Reading?

Sean Brady, the All Ireland Primate has admitted to having withheld information from the Irish authorities concerning paedophile priest, Brendan Smyth.  In 1975, whilst a priest himself, he compelled two alleged teenage victims of Smyth, a boy and a girl to sign a religious oath of silence.

He has now justified this in terms of allowing a proper ecclesiastical investigation to proceed unhindered.  His own failure to inform the authorities has been explained in terms of his not having been the “designated” individual to liaise with the law enforcement arm of a godless world.

Let us have a quick look at the synoptic gospels which appear in the holy book Brady supposedly preaches.

Despite the Roman Catholic Church’s assumption that it is the religious inheritor of the Roman Empire, Christian teaching has presumption that adherents will adapt to the laws of the respective land.  Render unto Caesar’s what is Caesar’s, that sort of thing.

In Luke 10:30/7, there is a parable of a traveller who, although he was not a “designated” person, still stopped to help a fellow human in trouble.

Add to all that, the ecclesiastical investigation manifestly did not work, as Smyth continued to sexually assault children for another two decades.

Brady must resign.
